What happens to my RISD account when I withdraw from RISD?
The Registrar's Office notifies ITS when a student withdraws from RISD. In turn, ITS will notify the student about the two-week grace period to transfer files from their Google Drive and/or download files from various institutional applications, and include the date by which their RISD account will be disabled.
Students are responsible for backing up any data from the various services before the disable date. It is not permissible to request access to your information after your account has been disabled.
Your RISD account provides access to RISD Gmail, Google Drive, and other institutionally licensed software and services (including, but not limited to, Zoom, Canvas, Adobe, and other department-specific software). Restoring access to a risd.edu account after the disable date would create a security and compliance risk for the RISD network and the expectations of our community regarding data security.
