How Do I Reset My RISD Account Password

RISD has a "self-service" password service: password.risd.edu. RISD account passwords expire every 6 months. You will receive three warning notifications (10, 5, and 1 day) before your password expires.

Reset Password

Visit password.risd.edu and click "Forgot Password."

Enter your username only (omit @risd.edu).

Enter the number captcha, and click continue.

Complete the 2-Factor authentication (2FA) by selecting your RISD or personal email.
A secure password link will be sent to the email selected.

Access the link and follow the prompts to enter and confirm a new password.

You should receive a green message stating the password change was successful.

*If you did not receive the email with the secure link, check your SPAM and trash folders in case the email went there instead of your inbox.
